YOUR LETTERS: Ameren benefiting from retirees?

YOUR LETTERS: Ameren benefiting from retirees? My title is Tom Greco. I’ve been a member of Native 360 Plumbers and Fuel Fitters for 37 years. I not too long ago retired from Ameren with similar period of time.

When checking into retiring, I used to be assured of medical premiums to be a specific amount till I reached the age of 65. Then on to Medicare from there. This was all assured to me from the human useful resource division of Ameren.

I, together with all the opposite women and men who’ve retired from Ameren Illinois, obtained a letter stating that as of July 1, our premiums will go up considerably. In my case, it went up near $900 extra a month. Ameren states that when the contract for the IBEW locals expires, so does the promised medical help to retirees.

All of our premiums have gone up and there are loads of upset and irate union members who labored for them. Appears fairly unhappy that they pump their chest about them being top-of-the-line locations within the nation to work for, then flip their backs on the women and men who gave a few years of laborious work, coping with harmful pure gasoline and electrical.

I imagine they’re enjoying laborious ball with negotiations with IBEW. The individuals who have retired are actually being stomped on and handled like sh-t.

We’ve nothing to do with the negotiations but are getting screwed.

I would like the general public to understand how Ameren treats their retirees.
