World Bioenergies sells to Repsol testing volumes of
bio-isobutene derivatives for gasoline formulation
Evry, 19 September 2022 – Repsol, the Spain-based multi-energy firm, signed a purchase order order for a quantity of World Bioenergies’ full-bio-ETBE for use for formulation and efficiency evaluation of gasoline.
ETBE is extensively used as a high-octane part in gasoline.
Nevertheless, customary ETBE, which is added as much as round 15% in present gasoline, is just partially renewable as it’s at the moment produced from renewable ethanol mixed with fossil isobutene.
To provide full-bio-ETBE, World Bioenergies transformed wooden residues into isobutene and mixed it with renewable ethanol.
